Default Got my Ansa today

I got home today to find my Ansa on the porch. Now, I just need to get it installed along with my rear cat and resonator delete. I got it off eBay for $105 including shipping. Sorry for the bad quality pics.

Ita actually a 1 7/8" inlet. but if you look closely at the inlet it has a 3 step to it. cut it at the last step and expand as much as possible and you should be able to weld a 2.5" tube to it. i spoke with bob at length on this and we felt for the price it was worth the gamble.
bob you rock!! mine was supposed to be here yesterday but the darn storm messed them up!. cant believe only 6" of snow keeps fed ex at home!! maybe today it will come. it looks great! i have the x pipe coming also

Since my track day got rained out, I thought I would take the muffler and get it installed, but..... It's a damn conspiracy!!! No muffler shop can fit me in today. I am just not feeling any love today. LOL

Hey Valk, I have seen that already. Great job with the how-to by the way. Right now, I think I want to go with the Ansa tips. If nothing else, just to have a different look for a while. I may eventually switch to the stock tips though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Valk... The Jury is still out. I am glad you asked though, because I was going to ask you about yours. With mine, when I go WOT, it has a sound like a high pitched scream. I even had several people coming up to me at the track last saturday asking me about my turbos. I couldn't figure out why so many people were asking me about a turbo until I asked a guy at the end of the day why he would ask about my turbos. He said that it sounded like it had a couple of big turbos on it going down the track. It was then that it dawned on me that everyone was thinking I had a turbo(s) due to the muffler sound.

Does yours sound like that at WOT? I want to video tape the sound so I can hear what it sounds like from outside the car. I will take my camcorder with me next time I go to the track.

Ohhhh.... I also did a resonator delete at the same time.

Well mine being an na Crossfire might be the difference.
No high pitched scream whatsoever.
Mine is all stock.... never had a OEM resonator so my exhaust is different from yours.
I suspect the resonator delete may have something to do with the different sound you seem to be experiencing.

Mine has a deep throaty Euro sound WOT and all.

Now what you may be hearing is the scream from the supercharger.....but thats a great sound

Did you have the shop weld a 2.5" pipe to the rear of the muffler? Reason I ask, the ANSA inlet is 1 7/8" from the factory. Even at the step-up near the case, it most only be 2.25" at the MAX. If you welded a bigger pipe to the rear, even if only slightly bigger, there may still be a small lip of metal that the air is trying to squeeze through when it makes the bump from 2.5" piping to a 2.25" hole.

This lip might just be causing a whistle noise... after all, a real whistle (referee style) is only a piece of steel with a sharp edge for air to pass over.

Think this is a possibility?

John, you might have something there. I did not check his work, but he said he would weld a 2.5" pipe to replace the 1 7/8. Of course, if that is the case, I am not sure how I would check to confirm it. Thanks

I decided to take the safer route and just do the resonator first. I will try to get some pics and a video by this weekend. No drone so far.
