Question Anyone swapped out there cup holder want to sell it?

Hi all, just picked up an '05 Coupe at the weekend and think its great.

Just one problem, it is actually my wife's car and she has just moved from an MX-5 which was loaded with cup holders, whereas the XF just has the black plastic hole/tray.

I have read that lots of people don't like the cup holders, and have swapped them out, so is there anyone (preferably in the UK, but not essential) that would like to sell one that they have removed?

Just to keep my wife quiet!

Thanks

FYI you can find a much better aftermarket cupholder on ebay: (no connection to seller)

That's really amusing -- the eBay listing actually claims that the "Chrysler Crossfire Cup Holder" is "great for every model from 1972 to 2006..." I never knew the Crossfire has had such a nice 34 year production run so far.

The cupholder being sold on ebay is available at most any auto parts store for under $10.

I still have the cupholder I removed when I changed it to the storage bin. I'm open to offers.

Well thanks to midnightman, my cup holder is on its way over to the UK. I guess I then get to find out what all this fuss is about.

I hope it isn't too hard to fit?

If it stops my wife nagging about the lack of cup holders it will all be worth it.

Thanks Piquet, I was tempted...

But I reckon that anything I saved on the cup holder would have probably been lost on the divorce.

Actually a divorce could have been disastrous because the log book for the XF is in her name, that could have meant a nasty custody battle too!

LOL... I hope she likes it, but I'm afraid that's not going to be case. Your next purchase will be a nice tower to match the color of your interior. It will come in handy to wipe up the spillage from her favor beverage. By the way that's also available on ebay. J/K but IMO poor design, bad location...

Just wanted to say a big thank you to midnightman. The cup holder arrived a few weeks ago but I only just got around to fitting it this weekend.

It is a perfect colour match and seems to work fine. I'm very pleased with it so far, I just have to wait and see how my missus manages now!

You are most welcome! I'm glad the color matched as that was my only real concern. Enjoy!

I hate the cup holder, I have one in mine 2004, I often press it when changing gear. They should not have put them in the manuals!!

Jon

I would love to change to the pot!

that's a good point. i will have a look tomorrow and in the workshop manual, failing that their are plenty of guys in the usa that have done it. the little box just pulls out that is no problem. you can contact me on: xfire@tiscali.co.uk i may even come down an strip your car down...only joking.

If anyone has any leads on getting one of those cup jolder replacements, please advise me. I'm looking for one. The on that was being sold on ebay isn't there anymore?
