Beaulieu Motor Museum in Hampshire are holding a classic car show...Its free to enter and not open to car clubs. Its a day that any individual with a classic or interesting car will have free access for the driver and passenger, plus free entry to some of the Beaulieu attractions. I have spoken to the organizers and the Crossfires are welcome. All cars will be displayed in the main outside car show arena.

Its running for the next four Saturdays 21/28 July and 4/11 August. You will need to log onto the B.M.M internet site (easy to find) confirm your interest and a entrance form will be sent to you. I have confirm my entrance for the 11th August. Could be a fun time and a good opportunity to show off your cars. The local village in on the waters edge, with loads of local pubs, cafes etc. There are B&B's and hotels locally if wish to stay over.

Perhaps a few of us will meet for a good old chat about...you know what "Crossfires".

Ken.

Hi Ken,

Being a classic car nut I've always wanted to visit Beaulieu but never actually made it there yet! I'll see if I can get down there for on the 11th but its the weekend after a trackday and I might be out looking for new rear tyres and brakes.

Hope to see you there.

Simon.

Hi,
Beaulieu is very local for me (less that 5 miles away). I would be willing to put a couple of people up (more if you like the floor or sharing double beds), wifey is away that weekend anyway. Only problem is secure parking (only on road will be available), although we could leave a couple of cars at my parents house a mile or so away where the parking is very safe and most secure.

It sounds like I have moved into planning mode.

I am now very confused.

How did Ken get a welcome ???

got the following rejection from B.M.M:

Thank you for your response to Calling all Classic Cars, unfortunately the criteria for this event is that your vehicle be 25 years or older.

Kind regards,
Kelly

I spoke to Kelly Daye of BMM today. Crossfires are not eligible for the Classic Car Show. The original information I was given was incorrect and the letter I received confirming my place on the day was sent in error. Any interested parties could still meet in the Beaulieu car park, view the classic car show (a fee to pay) or visit the village and take in the local sights and of course talk crossfire. If any C/F owners are still interested in a meet, do let me know your available dates and I will suggest a time and place to meet.

Ken.

I'm still up for a meet. I also thought about Brooklands. If we get enough people we may be able to arrange a shot of us on the old banking. I'm still waiting to hear about the Vulcan shoot a Brutningthorpe that I posted a while back. Sadly the project is running behind so they missed the open day in May.
