Did you sand it down, or just prime it and paint it? It does looks like a good paint job. Very glossy!

Jon - Very nice paint job there, you must have spent some time on that. What paint did you use, was it acrilic ? You'll have to give us some tips on getting such a super finish!

No primer, just a quick light sand down to key it. Then the colour. Lots of lacquer. Finish off with a 1500 flat down then polishing.

Cheers

Hi Steve.

Yes two pack lacquer on top. The colour was water based, this makes it easy to wipe off the colour that will cover the lettering. Lots of lacquer. After drying off it was hand flated with 1500 wet and dry paper then polished up.

Hi Jon
Don't want to be a pain, but do check out picture one. Looks like a chrome air intake!

Cheers

It looks great and I can't wait to do mine.

My only question is, isn't lacquer highly flamable? Just a question.

It does pull off. It has metal clips that hold it down. Pull up. Good luck!

Hi Andy. Yes just trying some colours out at the mo. Give it a hard pull from the back first. It feels solid, but it will lift up and off. Body colour should be OK. If you want to try it out first. Just lay some thing over the filter box thats near to your body colour and see if you like it.

Cheers

Very flamable in its liquid state. Once dry its only as flamable as the plastic cover filter box itself.
