Default Dome lights - not getting full power

Guys,

A few weeks ago, one of my dome lights started flickering, then wouldn't light as bright as the other side. I pulled bulbs, switched them, now neither are at full brightness. I grabbed some new bulbs from the dealer, but no change. Anyone ever have this issue. Dealer believes that it's a power management issue (computer?) but I seem to doubt it.

Anyone have any similar experiences, or thoughts on a possible fix, please let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

Not a fix but if you can't find the problem you could try led lamps as the require less amperage.
Of course this will not fix anything but could be used as a work around.

I had the same problem, dealer changed the entire light unit under warranty.

I bought my car used and had this same trouble. I took out the unit (two screws) and had a look at it. There are metal strips that carry the power to the bulbs and they were not making good contact. Bend them a little and it should fix it. BTW, I latter installed led bulbs and now when I roll a window up or down the lights flick on but only when I hit the switch. Others have this same thing happen with led bulbs.

I also had the same problem. I believe there was a TSB for this. Dealer replaced my entire dome light assembly under warranty.

I had the same problem, but it wasn't the bulb clips... When DC installed my headliner they screwed the driver's side sun visor straight through the wires that power the dome lights causing a intermittent short but mostly a dimming.
