lighted turn signal mirrors
Do the side mirrors on mercedes fit crossfires?
I am thinking of putting these on my '04 crossfire.
I like the lighted turn signal in the side mirrors.
Anybody done this already?

Well you can apparently put LED turn signals on older SLKs to give it that newer look. I would say throw a post in the MBworld forums to see if any SLK owners have done it and maybe they can walk you through it.
Here's a link for a bunch of LED mirrors for the SLK:

There is about a half a dozen accessories available for the crossfire directly from Chrysler. They also come with a 1 year warranty from Chrysler. Here is the website. Just select 2007 Chrysler Crossfire to see them.
The part number of the turn signal mirrors is 82209048. They are blue chrome. I asked the chrysler dealer what they would charge to install them and they said it would be about 2 hours at whatever the labor rate is. And if there is a problem the first year they will fix it at the dealer. They are also heated like the factory mirrors.

How difficult would these be to install?
www.chryslerpartsdirect.com has them for $180.18 plus shipping.

I asked the dealer for some pictures when I asked about installation. They said there was no pictures in the system. All the system said was that they were the same size as factory and they are blue chrome.

I have seen them and that's why I don't have them...blue shiny metal on my Grey car just don't look right to me...of course you could put chrome covers over them. But I am not sold on the chrome look yet so that's why I haven't gone that way.
I would much rather have the turn signal incorporated into the body of the mirror, as in the SLK, than have a chevron flashing in the mirror. The flashing chevron seems more appropriate on a big SUV.
Well as you can see by the pictures, you only get the mirror heads not the complete mirrors. At least this answers the question on what you get with part number 82209048.

I was able to get my local Chrysler dealer to match the $180 price. Dealer cost is $173 so you probably won't get them much less than that. It took 3 days to get them shipped to the dealer. They were very easy to install. The old mirrors just pop out with your hands. I removed the mirrors using a T40 torx and ran the wires through the door, behind the sill plate, and found the rear turn signal wires to splice into. The directions tell you which color wires to use.
I gotta say...these should have been a standard part for the X Fire!!! The mirror has a slight blue color to it and the turn signal is amber in color.
This part is highly recommended as an upgrade. I will get some pics to my gallery later tonight. Wish me luck trying to get a pic and timing the blinker at the same time.
