i was thinking about just taking the grille out of the car.
has anyone tried this?
does it look good?

no.
it would be similar to when people do this to a mustang where it just has the horse emblem "floating".

but obviously their would be no emblem.

You would need to finish the edge of the bumper where the grille ends.
It is easy to take the grille out. Take it out and see if you like it...

isn't it like 4 bolts and it comes right out?

Try painting it black and using black 3/8" wheel well molding in place of the existing silver strips. I did that a few months ago and remain very happy with the look.

so i took it off and
it did not look good.
i'm looking for a mesh looking aftermarket grill.
can anyone help me find this?

Here is an example of the grill painted with the chrome strips inserted. The link at the bottom has the parts needed and directions.



The picture of my black SRT6 shows a modified grill. I painted it black and put chrome strips in place of the silver. It has been one of the most common mods and it costs less than $20.
