Default Karmann Badge

I have had a few requests for the Karmann shield badge. I cannot make that. I did write Karmann about getting some but have not yet had a reply.

In the meantime, FP provided another Karmann badge picture.

How many would be interested in a pair of these? They would go on the lower rocker panel just behind the bottom rear edge of the door.on each side. There is actually a rectangular area this would fit.

Badge size would be 1/2" X 2"

It would be engraved and filled with black in place of the raised look in the picture. The finish would be brushed aluminum. It could be done in brass with a polished nickel plate for more money. Depending on the number of people that wanted a set, cost for the brushed aluminum finish set of two could be around $20. The polished nickel would be at least $10 more per set.

If there is enough interest I will get them done. Please let me know if you are interested and brushed or polished nickel.

I would be interested in the polished nickel. Maybe you should make this a poll.

I would be very interested. Either Aluminum or nickel, I'm not fussy.

Agreed. "Polished and a poll." Sounds like it should be a song...

Just and idea but you might want to check out the VW and Renault dealers as various Golfs and Megane cabrios have Karmann scripts and badges on the rear quarter panels.

Woody, can you find out what the shield emblem from Renault cost if I buy lets say 20 of them. I will be traveling to the UK the week of 7/16. Maybe a can pick up some and bring them back for some members.

No Problem FP, while I was driving about today and kept an eye out for a Megane Cabrio to check out the badges but no luck. I'll check it out tomorrow morning (the parts depts only open until lunchtime on a Saturday) and I will be away on Sunday for the rest of the week until the 15th. Where abouts are you going to be in the UK?

Polished for me, Although I like the "1" badge I received because it is not as large.

I'll be in High Wycombe, and maybe a bit in London.

I dropped by the Renault dealer this morning and checked out the badges on a MK1 Megane Cabrio, the latest CC's don't seem to have any obvious Karmann branding like I thought. I'm not sure if it is exactly what people are looking for but the Part No. is 7700848331 and they are 13.63 GBP inc VAT and take a couple of days to order. The badges are self adhesive resin-drop dome type (like the Chrysler badge on our key fobs) and about 50mm sq.(sorry for the poor photo, I only had my low res phone, and the car was a filthy example in the bodyshop).

I don't know Ill pass on this... Although I love when SRT comes up with a new product to offer us... If we could get a Karmann badge to replace the chrysler badges in the front and rear center of the cars that would be something very interesting... and probably something I would purchase...

Is there a website we would go to order these?
