I have purples and they are aimed right so they look oem ... our cars come with projectors for hid's so you can't tell that they aren't oem.

It is in fact illegal to install HIDs on cars and drive them on the streets as they are for "show purposes only". There's no way for a cop to really know unless they make you show them your window sticker so I wouldn't even worry about it.

Ummm, actually, the bulb type of the headlight assy. is printed on the lens. If you look at the front of your car you will see "H7" clearly molded into the plastic in front of each light. That being said, the projector lamps make it super easy to do the HID swap out because it still looks OEM. Besides, a car this cool is SUPPOSED TO have HID lamps, right?

Now, cars that use H4 or 9006 lamps are another story. Put HID in those and you'll blind everyone because of the amount or reflected light...

t doesn't matter what type of bulb it is, the ONLY "street legal" (which is the key word) HID systems come straight from the factory, everything else is for show/off-road purposes. I know it's easy to make it "look" like it came from the factory because I also have HIDs installed. Do the cops care...no. Should you be worried...no. There are a lot of things are illegal "by the book" but are overlooked by law enforcement. I'm sure on the McCulloch box it states "for off-road/show use only".

Pulled this from a site.
Are these XENON HID light systems street legal?
Every country and jurisdiction has its own rules and regulations governing the use of automotive lighting. XENON H.I.D. lighting systems that are supplied with the vehicles from the factory are DOT / E approved. The same OEM manufacturers that supply all the major car companies of the world also make our kits. NO XENON H.I.D. lighting system available from any source is DOT / E approved if installed outside of the factory. These kits are not street legal for use on public roads as they are. As a result, we officially endorse the kit for exhibition and off-road use and will only sell the kit to be used for these purposes. We are not responsible for customers who violate the terms of sale in which they will assume all responsibilities for any unauthorized or unintended use other than exhibition or off-road use.
There's no reason to worry, but I would suggest getting the 4,200K bulbs if you get HIDs.

Hey All,
Interesting conversation that I actually need some assistance on. I just bought Andrew's H.I.D. conversion kit and should have it by next week. My issue is that I love driving around with my fog lights and regular lights on but am disappointed that I don't have the blue lights for the fog lights? How can I get the fog lights to be blue also???

I personally like having Yellow fogs because when there is fog, yellow has a longer wavelength so it can penetrate through the fog better (hence why most fog lights are yellow or standard halogen color).

Also it looks sweet as hell.

You can always order a 9006 HID kit for your fogs.
