i think you will find that hid's are not intended for high beams because they take a little time to turn on and get to their full brightness. low beams on the crossfire are on all the time - even when high beams are on. it may be illegal to have his as high beams as well.

eruby, thanks for the input. I have heard this as well - that they are not ideal for high beams. However I did read a post from a member who did claim that he did have HIDs for his high beams and said they were great because when did use his high beams its was usually for extended periods of time at higher speeds. I think I could agree on this in terms of my driving style- however this depends driver by driver. Just food for thought. I'll probably wait on ordering a new set.

Exclamation Re: Xenon HID $75.98 Shipped!

A few observations on my new 5000K HID kit ($71.99 delivered).
  1. I don't care what anyone says, 5000K has a blue tint to it. They turn yellow reflectors green.
  2. There is a very nice little shelf under the radiator overflow tank that will take 2 ballasts stacked for lows/fogs applications It even has an M6 stud to use.. The ballasts don't get even warm, so heat dissipation isn't an issue.
  3. If I had to install 2 ballasts on the drivers side, I would stack them, in the little brackets using an M6 spacer and an M6 stainless screw. Maybe in the future.
I have been singing the praises of Sylvania SilverStar Ultras for some time now, and while they are better than OEM, these suckers are much better than the halogens. Period. My bad. Aplechu is right. I am wrong.
Driving home from Atlanta last night, I was worried about pi$$ing people off with these things. But nobody seemed to mind.
In fact, anyone behind me could have turned their own lights OFF and used mine!

Live and learn.

Hey,
Do you sell the smaller blue/white lights in the HID form that go around the head lights?
I do not know what they call these.
Thanks,

Did you have a "Bulb Out" indicator on the dash? The ones I bought have a capacitor installed to prevent this.

As an aside, I found a thread from mbworld about a DIY to install the capacitor. With values. I'll post it when I get to work.

Not all XENON HID's are created equal. You only get what you pay for.

Yep. they seem to be good folks to deal with. While they wouldn't take back the 5000K's (I modded the grommet) they discounted the 4300K replacements by $10. Way less than any others on eBay.

I received them today and will install them tomorrow after work. I charged up my camera and will do a "Max Pictoral" on the install. Including a different way and place to hide the ballasts.

Someone asked for ideas about that.

My kit shipped from California and arrived in 4 days from shipping notice.

And now I know where my full price for the kit went!

I'll have to haggle with them for the fog kits next month!
