Unhappy Illuminated Door Sills

I installed illuminated door sills on my car about 8 months ago and noticed a couple of weeks ago the " E " on "CROSSFIRE" looks like it shorted to ground and now my sill reads "CROSSFIR" when the drivers side door is open.
Anyone have a fix for this ? Can the light strip be replaced ?

MMZ Timelord did some surgery on his. You'll have to search.

But it's all one strip? I don't see how one end could go bad.

It IS a Chrysler part. 12 Month warranty.

Maybe the light strip is falling down/coming unglued only at that end.

I would be curious to know what you find. I planned to get a set when warm weather comes back around.

Here's Timelord's thread about changing the color:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=12567

He shows photos of it taken apart.

Geez I didn't think of it being under warranty for a year, I figured the standard 90 day or until it broke down warranty applied. I'll have to check into that, thanks Max. Now if I can only find the freakin receipt !!!

yeah it's weird, one would think the whole strip would go dead, but nope, just the " E " and it is shorted, there's a little burned spot under the protective overlay.

If you bought it online-the vendor (Wychoff?) will be able to produce a copy. If from a local dealer-same thing. Computers are wonderful/infernal things! Give 'em heck!
