I've been tossin' around the idea of painting mine to match. It'd be on a yellow roadster and I thought of retaining the silver edges. What do you guys think? Thanks for your input.

I just blacked out my grille on my blaze red, but left the silver trim. I thought about painting it red with the silver trim, but it might be too much red for me. I used satin black. Painting black on black seems to work better than any of the other colors.

I originally painted mine black and replaced the silver with chrome body molding. I then had hydrographic black carbon fiber applied. Finally I tried the polished SS mesh that has now been powder coated gloss black.

If anyone did the paint work themselves, could you tell me if the silver trim on the edges is removeable and how? Maybe it is easier to leave it on, but when sanding and painting, I would like to remove it to be safe. Thanks guys.

Look on the backside of the grille..............the silver pieces are plastic welded on. You can remove them by using a soldering iron to heat each one(one by one) and carefully pull them out.

I removed the silver strips and replaced them with cut to fit chrome strips from body side molding. Gave it a little bling to mathch the chrome wing.
