Default Cleaned under the hood and added slasher stripes

Dressed under the hood with some CD-2, and added the slasher stripes that I got from TBird. Just wanted to share.

Looks pretty sharp man my engine bay is so dirty! How did you clean it, was it just a spray and steam clean? any issues with parts getting wet under the hood that shouldn't?

BMorgan, looks good as always. Those AMG caps are about the classiest thing I have seen on an XF in a long time....

Nice and clean!
I like the slasher stripes cuz they make the car less BLACK!

Time to separate the cooling system from the supercharger!

Actually, all I did was spray Simple Green all over the inside... let sit for a few minutes and then sprayed off with a hose being careful to not spray direct blasts of water at electrical components. After that I just sprayed on CD-2 detailing spray. CD-2 is the greatest thing ever. It makes everything look better than new and when dry, repells dirt. Most detailing sprays have an oil base that attract dirt. CD-2 is acrillic based.

Thanks for the compliment. Eventually, I want to get the Mandrus Millenium wheels. I think that these caps would look good on them as well.

Take a littel NevrDull to some piping and it will shine right up...I've only ever taken it to the piping immediately infront of the SC but I'm sure there are other places I could find if I took the time.... I was really surprised at how well it worked.

At this point, I think that you are a closet Black SRT guy. I bet you have a pair of black SRTs hidden in the garage that you secretly admire on a daily basis, and just have the other 2 for appearance sake. Come on out Tighed!!! It is ok to show the world that you have a love affair with black. Besides..... you can knock a couple of tenths off at the track with a black one because of the aerodynamic glide factor.

It is ok to be in denial. I am sure that you will come out in your own time. Until then we will still support you.

Looks great!

Did Karmann send you the badges or did you buy them?

I bought them from a forum member. I sent an email to Karmann a few weeks ago. I am not holding out hopes of getting anything from them.

I installed my slasher stripes today and have to say, it looks great in person. While seeing all the pictures, I have been on the fence about them. During the TMS event with all the Crossfires at the Speedway, a few had them had the stripes and they looked great. I have to say, with a black Crossfire and dark gray stripes is a great combination.

I did something a little different with mine as I separated the 1/4 inch outer stripe from the main gray stripe by about 1/8 inch and it gives a great sporty look. Don't have pictures as I ran out of light and time today.
