Default ATC Add a Circuit fuse connector

Does anyone know if I was to use this in my fuse box connector to the cigarette lighter fuse if it would turn off with the key like the cigarette lighter does? Or does it miss the shut off of the ignition? Ron

You would be able to do that but anything on that circuit will also be on all the time. If you want to do it so you're not making any permanent changes, get two add a circuits that have removable fuses. Remove the fuse from the one you will be replacing the lighter socket fuse with and connect the leads coming off them to each other. Then plug it in and see if your lighter works. If it does, it's connected correctly, if not, you need to flip the add a circuit around.

Good luck.

I want the new circuit to turn off like the cigarette lighter when the key is off. Is there constant power going across the cigarette lighter fuse at all times or only when the key is on? If the fuse is turned off from the power when the key is off that would be great. I just don't know if the power is switched off after the fuse or before. The car is in storage so I can't to do any testing until warmer snowless surroundings. Thanks Ron
