Little "phat" lip
5 Attachment(s)
Just finished attaching my Cupra R front lip last night. Two and a half hours on a cold garage floor—what do you guys think?
It's an universal spoiler made in Spain. I've seen them used for Audi TT's, A4's and Golf's, but never a Crossfire. It actually fit pretty nice. The width is perfect, I had to trim the middle posts down and shave off some depth, our front bumpers are pretty short. I ordered if from OEMPlus, (it took about 5 weeks). Re: Little "phat" lip
Looks good....
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
I'd go ahead and give that one the seal of approval. Looks pretty darn sharp.
Nice work. :D |
Re: Little "phat" lip
Actually that's pretty nice. I bet painted the color of the car looks even better.....
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
looks good, great job. jim

Re: Little "phat" lip
What did you do to mount it? I'm sure you had to drill into the bumper.
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Thanks guys. FP - I'm actually thinking of painting it body color, when I get my front wings painted the same.

Re: Little "phat" lip
I like! ...Squirrel
Crusher |
Re: Little "phat" lip
I mounted it with fourteen #10 3/4 zinc coated bolts. All of the holes are pretty far down, don't think it should be any problem if removed. I'm thinking of using some 3M tape also if I get it painted. Might also use some metal sandwich trim clips for some extra support in a couple spots. All in all its pretty damn solid, but I'm still going to be cautious with curbs and large speed bumps.

Re: Little "phat" lip
Looks really nice , I like it.... :)
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Fantastic job! I might even implement that as a substitute until the SRT bumpers start getting produced again...
Body color would look great, CF would look even better. Then again, I'm a CF junky. |
Re: Little "phat" lip
I think it looks nice also. Great job!
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Very SRT-6ish. Experimentation is good. Congrats.:)
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Looks really good ... how difficult would the mod to the part be for a "non-techie"?
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Very nice............I like and I'd leave it black too!
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Hey Kim - Getting it lined-up and drilling the first hole is critical. Everything after that is really not that hard. I bet a body shop or even local mechanic could do this in their sleep for minimal cost.
Tp: I pre-drilled all the holes on the spoiler first, one hole for each tab, and make sure its centered. Just take your time. Good luck. |
Re: Little "phat" lip
Really looks quite nice. If I already didn't have a SRT nose on mine I think that I would go with that. I would leave it black on my Blaze Red though.
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
very impressive srt6ish it is
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Looks great - do you have any pics froma little distance too?
|
Re: Little "phat" lip

Re: Little "phat" lip
where did you buy that?
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
OEMPlus.com, direct links is in red, on the first post.
Tip: The actual shipping that I paid was less than what they say on the product page. I think I paid $116 with shipping, not too bad. |
Re: Little "phat" lip
Very, very nice. It's subtle, so it doesn't jump out at you like so many tacky aftermarket pieces do. I just might have to pick one of these up!
|
Re: Little "phat" lip
Oh wow, I just checked their website and they're practically down the street from me!! Would nice to pick one up and not have to pay shipping!!! Just waiting on an email response from them.....................

Any other tips/pointers/suggestions you can offer on the install? I really think I'm going to pick one of these up, and leaving it black will perfectly match my black rear diffusers. |

Re: Little "phat" lip
No 3m tape in the center, but I'm thinking if taping and bolting latter in the future if I paint it. Its seems to be pretty solid just with the bolts.
I think the holes are low enough that you would not see them if the splitter was removed, you would have to get down pretty low, they are all behind the front body crease in the bumper. It took almost 3 hours to put it on I really don't want to take it off 2 days latter. If I do paint it I promise to snaps some pics and post them. I might even order another one as a spare. Not sure how low the SRT bumper is but this ones got curb crack written all over it. Just a heads-up you really have to watch the parking curbs with it. |
Re: Little "phat" lip
Those last pics had me reminiscing of my days Colorado Springs with the mountains in the background. I lived in the Springs from 1989 to 1998. I have some great memories from there, and do miss it.

Re: Little "phat" lip
Ya I know, I just have to get use to parking back a bit.
OEMPlus should be close to you, I use to live across from the Irvine Police station about 10 years ago. I know exactly where they are located. They have some really nice stuff, the PPI Audi R8 stuff is really pricy! |
Re: Little "phat" lip
That just looks wrong...take it off ASAP and send it to me:D Very Very cool, its uplifting to come across new ideas for these cars as it seems the aftermarket world has forgotten us.
Curtis BTW do I get a free sticker or something for my 500th post?;) |
Re: Little "phat" lip
Nice try Ghost, I do appreciate the compliment! It was a little bit of a risk, I had no idea if this would even fit until it arrived at my front door. Good thing it worked out!
