Default Furious!!!

I am so mad I cant see straight! Somebody banged into my rear bumper while it was in the parking lot this weekend! I park so far away at stores, you have to bring a lunch before you get to the store! What really makes me mad is no one left a note or try to find the owner! I am the only SRT in town and drive it everywhere so they could find me. Its right in the middle. It put a 10" horizontal crease and scratched the paint. I took it to the body shop and lucky you still can get bumpers for our cars..Body shop said insurance companies are cracking down on excessive reimbersment and said they might just say it can be patched and not replaced. NOT!!! I will pitch a fit if they tell me that. No way Im having bondo on my SRT! Ill find out more tommorrow..

Her's a darn good price on a new OEM bumper

04 05 06 07 08 CROSSFIRE REAR BUMPER COVER OEM PRIMED : eBay Motors (item 390145851054 end time Feb-19-10 09:02:58 PST)

Personally, I wouldn't even mess with the insurance company. It happened in a parking lot so it's on private property. And they're not going to pony up for full MSRP of a rear bumper from Chrysler.

Also, the one on Ebay is primed. All you gotta do is paint it. ($200?)

For less than the price of a deductible, you're fixed. Go that route.

That stinks. We're there security cameras in the parking lot that you can ask the property management to review?

That sucks. Hope you get her fixed up okay.

Instead of parking out completely alone in the North 40, I try to look for several nice cars together (which is usually a little ways out) and park with them.
Generally speaking, people with other nice cars (nice as in look well taken care of, not necessarily expensive) are as concerned about dings as we are. Plus, the car is a bit more protected from some jackhole on a mission to make others pay for their bad attitude.

if the insurance wont cover the cost of the new bumper you could ask to pay the difference of what it would cost to replace rather then repair. youll have to pay some out of pocket but you wont pay full price.

I usually do park out with the vettes and there are a couple Lotus Elise's here that park out there also. I park where no one is behind me to back up into the car. Almost seems like it was on purpose. If thats the case, its sad that some people have to destroy something that they dont have.

Sad and probably true considering it was a hit and run.
But hopefully you can get that new bumper (if you have full coverage, you should be able to have it fixed to YOUR specifications, insist on it with your insurance) and have everything good as new in short time.

I usually park far out, and double-park at that.

I've seen ALOT of cars keyed or dinged on purpose due to double parking, just saying be careful with that. People thing you're some jagoff that's high on himself. I'm not saying that's what I PERSONALLY think, its what runs through the mind of a 16 year old driving daddy's civic.
