Default Bulb out indicator

I got back from Woodward and the 'Bulb Out" indicator was on.
I found one of the low beams was out, so I took it out and inspected it. It appeared to be OK so I buzzed it out and found that I had continuity.
I put it back in the car and it worked.
Has anyone seen this before? Maybe a bad filament that falls into the correct position. I have only seen these things completely burn out. There was no sooty residue inside either.
Maybe a bad connection somewhere?

Dave, I noticed your low beams appeared different to me, one was whiter. If you need some H7's I have some you can have.

You mentioned that before. I will get HID's soon so if this one stays lit I should be OK. I think that they get dimmer as they fail, do you remember which bulb was the brightest? Could be a clue to my failed (?) bulb which appears to work, but I do not have too much faith in it to be honest.

From what I recall, the passenger seemed brighter/whiter. These HID's work well in my car, no bulb out indicator, come via Post and no duty, service fee's/brokerage or taxes. I have 6000k's a very slight bluey white, same as Beaner. OEM HID's I believe are 4300K, very slight yellow tinge.

I think you have confirmed that my driver side bulb is cooked. I do not think that it will last long, I was delaying the HID's until the end of my warranty, which is this October some time.
I put on 1,004 km this weekend, at this rate the car will roll over 100,000 km in 14 more years.

I have had a similar problem with my car. I have a bulb out indicator light on my dash but all of my lights work so I just left it alone and have been ignoring the indicator light lol. Its been easily a year...

What about the two lights for the rear license plate, it seems people forget these bulbs.

Mine started coming on last night too. It only comes on when I click the headlights on. It doesn't come on when I have the fogs or running lights on. I am thinking it may be an issue with the HID capacitor.

I have a problem also but it's my right turn signal. Replace bulb, old one was still good, but still did not work. Checked fuses on drivers side of dash and they were good. Any answers?? The bulb may be good but do you have power at the bulb socket to light it.
Start at the bulb and work back.
