Not to offend but some of the billet grills look like someone just stuck it over the hole no real custom fit . ... again Just my personal observation. I think if it looks good to the owner , thats what matters.... Happy Driving

Bottom line, it's your car and you like mesh. And, per your candor, it's still not fitting properly, which underscores the arguments of those fans of the OE look.
Like anything with the XF, it does not come out of the box ready to go, it needs some serious handling to get it to fit perfectly, and although I will continue to play with it, it fits better than any I have seen, as pictured below. I tried to recess mine back further so you would get more depth from the grille, I also accentuated this by painting the recess for the grille in matte black. IMHO this setup looks miles better than the OEM, but it is simply my opinion, some do not like the depth of the emblem and the grille being a little farther apart, I think it adds to the look. I still need to spray the core support and a few other bits in black, but all in good time.

Do not buy this grille and expect it to look like this without some serious effort...

and most recently...

Now if this one only had the woven wire like the Jags.......I like the small surround on these.

I hate having a somewhat rare "special" car that looks just like the cheap cars Chrysler produced.....therefore the first mod I purchased was the smooth vented hood and once it is installed I plan to take a close look at the grille........black, chrome, billet, mesh???????

The grille in the picture made from polished stainless steel would be very nice. I haven't been fond of mesh grilles, but that could change my mind.

I have to agree with this, and with comments made by onehundred80 and seconded by IBLUBYU. I'm reluctant to say what I truly feel about the mesh grilles because I don't want to offend anyone......I just can't find a truly non offensive way to word it. I'm a firm believer in "it's your car, do what you like with it", and I've even seen plenty of cars that I thought had been done up very well, even if it wasn't something I would do to my own car. But there are a couple of things that I just can't get past on these cars, and that's one of them.

I'm with you. The mesh grill that I have seen are a turn off for me becouse the trim around the grill is to wide. However I do like the one in this pic and would think about a change and color it to match the car.

In terms of car mods, I usually tend to lean towards keeping things more or less stock, and the Crossfire is no exception. I really like the factory grill (in spite of the cheap paint and seal Chrysler used on it which is now peeling at only 35K). Changing the grill doesn't really do anything for me. The only thing I think would be cool was if the rest of the car was blacked out, and the grill was black mesh, that could look pretty badazz.

That's due to poor masking.

I don't like the look of the thick border on the mesh grill. Too much of a "Batman" look for my taste. I do like the grill design posted by FP however.

I painted my stock grill and emblem with plastidip and am very please with the results as they are temporary and can be returned to stock whenever.

I didn't like the all black look on a Silver car so I peeled off the horizontal part of the grill to expose the silver.

Back to the OP.
I can think of a couple things that I really enjoy seeing "fish net" on , but a grille isn't one of them.
I like the look of a mesh grill, (not crazy about its boarder) but the transparency factor is just too much for me.
That being said, I'm glad we have options, and I always encourage any car enthusiast to "make it your own". Because until it looks just the way you want it to look, it pretty much looks like everybody elses. (But with the Crossfire, that isn't neccessarily a bad thing either).

Now this I could live with.https://www.crossfireforum.org/galle...hp/photo/25984
But I'd paint the boarder gloss black to match the car.
