Two quick questions, I have searched but can't seem to find the answers I need. I have a dash bulb out, night time illumination, only one. Does anyone know what the part number or type of bulb it is and how many there are in total as I might attempt replacing it this weekend but thought best to replace them all in case the new one is brighter.

Also do these cars have a speedo cable on the back of the cluster that needs to be disconnected or is it all don't electronically now.

Sorry should also ask how do people manage to get the plastic cover off that sits over the dash cluster. I struggled to remove it and to put it back in and get it over the warning lights on each bottom corner which was near impossible. Am I doing something wrong or should the dash cluster come out first before the plastic frame thingy. The plastic frame thing I mean is shown by the bottom arrow (the inside frame) in the attached photos.

 

According to the FSM (2005 available online) you have to drop all of the knee covers first to get at the lower screws. If you have a '07 or '08 that knee air bag must come out also.

Is it the tach/speedo or gas gauge/speedo ?

 

Ok ta that's why I struggled, the light that is out is the one between the speedo and rev counter. The one in the left is out the one on the right is ok.

 

Run that by me again please. The gas gauge is on the left even in your RHD picture.

 

You beat me to it, just got back from driving and was about to amend the post. The light that is out or dim is the one on the left between the fuel gauge and speedo. Also I did drop the knee pad and still struggled if I am calling what I think is a knee pad. Mine is an 06 so no knee airbag.
