Default CONFUSED about lengths of wiper arms and wiper blade placement

Have tried to search but couldn't find a definitive answer. The Wiper blades are stated to be 22 inch and 20 inch. That's fine, but the wiper arms are different lengths also. One of them measures, from the hinge pin of the arm to the loop end, 12 inches, and the other 14 1/2 inches. My confusion is, which arm goes on the driver side and which on the passenger side. Then .... which wiper blade goes on the arms.
I may have inadvertently switched them around when replacing my siren alarm, and now the driver side wiper hits on the paint of the upper windshield molding. Sorry if this is confusing .....
Edit: the title says "lengths or" .... should be "lengths of"
