Can anybody recommend from first hand knowledge a good, reliable paint shop in the Dallas area? I live north of Dallas.

I am looking for a better than OEM paint for my 1998 Dodge Dakota (which is my daily driver). The 2005 Crossfire Limited Roadster is a garage princess. I want it to look good but not a show stopper. I will spray the bed with a liner, so no painting required there. I don't want an A-1 paint job costing $15,000-$20,000. Hoping I can find a paint job preferably around $5,000, $7500 absolute maximum. Am I kidding myself?

I went to the Herb's Paint by my house and they told me that they don't paint "whole" cars. They only do collision repairs. I thought it was very odd.

I do not know if they will paint an entire car (although I don't know why the wouldn't), but I have had a bumper replaced/resprayed on a black car and I thought these guys did a very good job.

I have also had a vehicle repaired due to a wreck at Caliber Collision in Lewisville. Although the paint job is great (even hand repainted my "Ford logo" on the pin stripe), I cannot recommend them due to poor dis-assembly and re-assembly. I had to repair or replace several items that were not assembled or handled correctly.

 

Stuart's on Plano rd n Dallas painted my crossfire when had a wreck fender an door looks great. They have done several cars for me,they are next door to my office. They do a lot of high in cars. They rebuilt the Ferrari that was featured on fast and loud. You may find if you can get someone to prep car you could save some monies on repainted. You may also consider a full wrap 2000 to 3000 dollars

Also I went to school with Gary Hatfield at Hatfield restorations canton tx he does complete restore takes a rust bucket and when they are Thur, the are hi end show cars. He has done several cars that were featured on Barrett Jackson. He has about 25 people working for him, his shop is own 2909 about 5 miles south of canton hwy 19 to 2909 turn left 2909 then about 2 miles on right, look for a old rusted 40 model Chevy sedan by the drive to he shops sets about 1/8 mi off 2909. Go and take a tour . we have
Had a couple of crossfire gtg there. It can take a couple of hours to see it all. They have cars there they are working on are have completed they have to show rooms. They are open on sat morning. Google ck out their web site. Good luck.

Thanks for all the information. Yes, if you can talk to Tom Collins and see if he will paint a pick-up, it would be greatly appreciated. As you can probably figure out, that is the place that told me they didn't paint whole cars. I still think it's odd.

 

Give these guys a call. They should be up your way. Looks like they have a full spray booth and show complete paint jobs...
