I need to refinish the windshield surrounds, the clear covering is missing in places. I need to remove the rest of the clear covering to achieve a like new result. Has anyone refinished theirs? What did you use to remove the clear finish and what paint did you choose, please?

I took mine off and had my local body shop repaint them. I had them painted the same color as the car. Just using spray paint will not last long in the sun.
