11. "Rubber Neckers", everytime they see an accident, or even a police car parked along side the road. They will slow down to 20 mph in the passing lane, just hoping to see something. Drives me crazy every time.

Definitely number 3...when I go to work in the morning these young babes love to tailgate you ...they are probably late for work who knows but (and I am not stereotyping) they are usually young women. Its a wonder more of them don't have accidents the way they drive. AND...to top that off they are usually on a cellphone at the same time!!

I hate people who roll through stop signs when you have the right of way. I also hate people who run red lights when it was clearly red before they entered the intersection. I especially hate people who speed through school zones - and even more, when they try and pass me when I go 25 mph through a school zone...

#1 in my book.

Actually its slow drivers that wont change lanes and to top it off you are boxed in so you cant just overtake. So you do whatever you have to do to get around people and about to finally get in front of the slow driver, but that's when they go ahead and change lanes.

#2 in my list and could be #1 are people in one lane carpool lane that are driving slower than the rest of regular traffic.

This isn't necessarily the most annoying but its the wildest thing I saw a driver doing. We've all seen the putting on make up and shaving on the way to work in the morning, how about brushing their teeth. I saw a young guy brushing his teeth driving a Mustang on the Long Island Expressway. How is he rinsing his mouth and spitting it out? I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. To me the most annoying thing is talking on cell phones while NOT using a hands free set (its illegal to use NON hands free phones in NY). Nobody obeys the law in NY. Police should be given permission to "shoot to kill all drivers NOT using a hands free set". Invariably they are in the left lane going 5 MPH, holding a phone in one hand and picking their nose with the other pay no attention to anything going on, on this planet. I've never seen such outright disregard for a law. You look at them when you see them talking and its like, what? The law doesn't apply to me does it? Thats my beef!

Thumbs down Re: Most annoying driving habits...

Since I am formerly from Long Island I can relate to Marc's statement. But here in Virginia there is a whole different driving culture/attitude. I don't want to insult any board members from Virginia, but the drivers I have encountered thus far drive like complete IDIOTS. No one stops for changing lights (turn or stop), stop signs are a joke, no one...I mean no one use signals...including the Police (except school buses). Cell phone use here is legal unless you are under 18, this makes no sense. People refuse to stay in there lanes, all the young drivers are reclined so far back in there seats that they cannot see over the dashboard. I have concluded that most drivers here, especially pick up trucks think that the yellow line in the roadway is there so they can drive on it and MAKE SURE THAT THEY TAKE UP THE WHOLE ROAD!!! Ironically in Henrico County where I live when it comes time to take your road test it is given in the back parking lot of the DMV, this I think is one of the main problems. No one really knows how to drive once they get on the roads, unless you went to Driving School and even that is suspect. I have seen Driving School cars were the students DO NOT use signals. In the State of Virginia 4 out of every 10 accidents ends in a fatality (insurance is not mandatory either). Again I apologize if I have offended any of the Virginia forum members, but I am sure that none of them would drive their XFire as I have described above.

Marc...Just the other day I encountered a man in a 2005 300C that was on his cell phone (without a hands free device) and had a map stretched across his steering wheel, and he was doing 70. Needless to say as I passed him, hit veered into my lane and just missed us by inches. Strangely we got off the Interstate at the same exit, pulled up to his side at the light and asked him if he was a safe driver...his answer was yes. He stated that him almost hitting us was my fault, and that "when you see a person that busy while driving you should not try to pass them"...go figure! My Wife and I just looked at each other, the man had the IQ/common sense of a door ****.

A proposal I had told several people about if I had my way would be to hire plain clothes auxiliary Police "Types" to drive in unmarked cars with dashboard video cams for proof and pull over and ticket people talking on cell phones. They receive no salary but only work on commission. The ticket is for $200 so they don't forget it quickly. The State gets $100, the cop $100. I want to be first on line for a job. I double my current income, no problem. The State closes any budget gap it may have. The only problem I see is that I wouldn't have time to break for lunch. That would solve the diet problem!

Of course the liability of giving untrained civilians the right to pull folks over creates huge problems for municipalities or the states. Do these people have guns? - Can they shoot to kill if threatened?

Sorry, I don't want civilians given the power without full police training, etc...

I will have to agree with you. Doesn't it seem like the smaller the car the younger the driver and the faster they drive?

What about nose picking and leaning forward while going up hill?

For me, it's got to be those passive-aggressive types that think it's their God given right to go slow in the left lane, driving right next to a slow going vehicle in the right lane, effectively forming a rolling road block. They absolutely refuse to move over even if they have a mile of traffic backed-up behind them!

ARRGGHH!

I've grown so accustomed to seeing women drivers applying lipstick as they stare at the vanity mirror that I can't work up the energy to get outraged about it, but THIS broad took the cake! Even if she had put down her make-up kit and had been looking straight ahead, she wouldn't have seen much: Perched at the"twelve o'clock"position on her steering wheel was a white Cockatoo the size of a Condor.

No wonder M/B is anti-cupholder.

Dobro, how did you get the word Cockatoo past the censors? Let alone "cup"holder.

What I hate the most are these idiots that cut in front of you with little room to spare. I have had them come in so close the only thing between me and them was a layer of car wax. I run I-480 in Cleveland each day and this seems to be the rule. They don't seem to care if they cause an accident.

For me, it would have to be when you're on the interstate, going the speed limit, and someone in a huge SUV or semi are coming out of an exit and hardly even look before they come over. Just the other day, I had a soccer mom in an Excursion just pull right over on me. If there had been a car in the other lane, it would be very bad... I also can't stand it when the semi drivers think they own the road. I've seen a semi literally 5 inches from the back bumper of a red mini van full of kids. It's terrible...

I'm definitely a #4 driver. I can't help it, I love to weave thru traffic, it's fun.

I can think of some to add to the list at the top:

a) Those that use their turn signals 2'-3.75" from the spot they are going to turn.

b) Those that speed up to pass you, only to make a right turn almost immediately after they pass you (like they couldn't wait for a second or three).

c) Those that won't pull into the next lane, even if it's open, when you merge on the highway.

d) Those that cut you off, then flip you off like it was your fault.

ok ... whew, I'm done ... for now.
