Red face Earthquake

Yikes! I stood in a doorway for a few seconds. 5.5 richter scale. This one rattled me. Been awhile since I felt one.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - A magnitude-5.6 earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay area Tuesday night, rattling homes and nerves, but there were no immediate reports of serious damage or injuries.

The moderate temblor struck shortly after 8 p.m., about 9 miles northeast of San Jose, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Residents reported feeling the quake as far east as Sacramento and as far north as Sonoma.

The California Highway Patrol has received no reports of damage or injuries, spokesman Tom Marshall said.

No damage, Crossfire doing great

Yeah, I was at a light on 3rd and Deleware when it hit at 8:04pm... car shook a bit, I thought my wife was moving her legs to the music.

We found out it was a quake later. No damage at our place. Largest one in the bay area in a while. Good thing too... we need more medium and small ones to keep the BIG ONE at bay...

Cheers!

We had a M 5.0 earthquake on Jan.31st. 1986. I remember because that's just about the time my wife got pregnant.
I guess you could say we really did "feel" the earth move.

And I'm planning on getting out of the Granola Bar state hopefully next year. I've been in the So. Cal. area for some 25 years and am ready for a change. If you do move out here you may want to consider the San Diego area since the earthquakes here are really mostly tremors. Unfortunately there is that little issue of wild fires in So. Cal., but that only happens every 3 or 4 years and you'll get use to it.
