Talk about the giant asterisk next to a record, first the cheating and the fines, now the refs, again and again intervening to cover their as*es, should be banned from betting on the games. The nfl and the pats are making barry bonds ethics look like an eagle scout. At least jaws at the end of the game stated" i can't believe the "pass interference" calls being made by the nfl officials today".

 

Don't cry, there were a ton of non calls all day on Baltimore. They were holding receivers all night. The perfect season is still intact. Don't hate, appreciate the history being made.

 

I was too young to really appreciate the Miami Dolphins perfect season back in 1972. But I was wondering, were they as arrogant and self-righteous as the New England Patriots are this year? Kinda makes it hard to admire anything they are doing. And, yes, I am a true-blue Colts fan. But that alone doesn't make me despise the Patriots - they do a fine job of making the entire country hate them with their actions.

 

Seems like everyone hates the winners! It used to be the New York teams. Hey, the New England/Boston area hasn't always been tops in the sports arena!

The attitude comes because they are showing that they are not cheaters and are just a great team. So instead of bad mouthing the league and the other teams they are keeping quite and proving their worth. A classy move by the entire organization.

Do you really believe no other teams are/were doing the same type of taping of signals? The only reason it came to light was because of a losing coach using it as an excuse for losing a game.

As for calls, there will always be good and bad calls for both teams! Just like there will always be people who want to badge their xfires, LOL.

 

I'm the same age, but my first football memory is the '67 Ice Bowl (my parents had a BIG party.. I was the designated bartender age 9) and had alot of trouble keeping the beer from exploding on the deck (-12 deg Madison WI).

As for the patsies, what can one expect from a team with so little history? They started up in what, 1964? Children. AFL???

I, for one am sick and tired of these prima donnas directly addressing the refs to see if they will change a call. That's why they gave the Head Coach a red hanky to complain with.

 

Welcome to the 21st century where the Patriots are the big dog on the block. Stop bringing up long past glorys. The "new" kid on the block is a beast and is looking to humiliate anybody weak enough to allow it. I am tired of people hating on the Patriots just because their dominanent. Its not the Patriots as an organization hyping themselves or being arrogant, its the media hype. The patriots are just going out there and playing football. Everybody wants to talk about how they run up the score, but when the Bears were destroying them in the super bowel back in the day nobody had anything to say, it was all in fun. Now that the tide has changed, I say deal with it! If you don't want to get blown out then play for a full 60 mins like the eagles and ravens did.

 

I'm sorry, I was only trying to point out that "back in the day" no team in the NFL with integrity ran up the score or would hassle an official if they didn't like the call. With todays "Look at Me" players, it is hard to find humility or honor. Look at Terrell Owens. He went to high school about 30 miles from where I live and after his BS showboating 2 years ago, his school removed all of his neat items from the display case (helmet, jersey etc.) in shame. Even his picture from his senior year.
If you like this sort of athlete, may I suggest the WWF? There taunting and intimidation is not only accepted, it is encouraged.

Two last things:

Tom Brady is a class act. I wish all of his teammates would follow suit.

My son is a right tackle for an NCAA team, and would get his butt kicked by his mother if he acted like most of his peers.

Take it easy, and root for your team. But just don't rub it in; it's beneath you.

The patriots are gonna get up for this one. Instead of bringing up past glorys, lets bring up current events. The steelers have three loses (pretty dominating if you ask me) this season. If you were undefeated or lost to only credible teams I'd heed your warnings, but since you've gotten beat by mediocre to subpar teams, I'll just disregard and chalk your words to "die hard brain washed chatter." Its all good tho, everybodys got their on beliefs on reality I guess.

 

Colts? Eagles? Ravens? Yes your right you should have 3 losses too. These wins have came against losing teams. The Jets, Bills,Bengals, Dolphins, Ravens, Eagles,Redskins and you get the Bills and Dolphins again. Big Deal. Real tough schedule. The NFC wins don't count because the best team there can barely beat the worst AFC team. Dallas should have lost to Buffalo on Monday night Football. That game was as bad as your eagles game. Let's just put the asterisk now. The Patsies will have *** next to the trophy, if they get past the first playoff game. Heck if they make it to the super bowl here I just might go just to boo them. I know you aint talking about easy schedule steelers fan. Theres reason your ranked first in defense and its not because your that good (obviously with three losses to sorry teams). You have not beatin or played a single elite team all season. We've beat the Colts and Dallas, who on your resume of teams even comes close? Lets not talk about almost lost, mister play the dolphins to a near stalemate. Throw on top three loses to sorry teams and you have no leg to stand on talking about our "almost" loses. The difference between great teams and good teams is being able to get out of those tough games with a W. We need no excuses, we are undefeated genius.
