funny story on my way to work today. most places here are now at about 3.85/gal prem. i was at a light and the corner station had prem for 3.79. i thought to myself, i need to get some of that at lunch. while i was waiting, the sign changed to 3.89. i immediately turned around and went across the street to full up at the competing station still marked at 3.79 because i know they will raise theirs before lunch. these changes are crazy. no rhyme or reason. it's not based on their cost because they change more than once per day. it's just crazy - though my energy stock is performing well.

 

We're paying $4.19 per gal. here in Rochester, NY. Same story... came to work the other morning.. $4.09 ..went up to $4.19 by 5 pm.....just think, we'll be paying $5.00 per gal by the end of JULY...

 

I'm too depressed when I go up to the pump. So I try not to read the price and only put $30 at a time in my car.

 

Heck we are paying $5.00 or alittle more than that now. I don't like it but the XF is not a daily driver so I can live with it. As for a daily driver a horse and buggy is looking very appealing

 

I topped off at Sam's Club last night for $3.90 after discovering that the Marathon and BP stations has upped the price of their regular gasoline to $3.93 per gallon.

 

$4.25 a gallon here thanks to our sky high state tax.

 

Anywhere from $3.93/gal to $4.16/gal here in houston.

 

$3.95 for Mobil 93 yesterday. Also was $4.65 for diesel. My DD takes diesel. You can find it up and down a few cents across orlando depending upon the area you are in too.

 

Original on 3/30/08 $3.30. Charleston SC today 5/23/08 $4.02 should be more by next week

 

The shell station just went to 4.35 for 91 :

 

Paid $4.04 for 93 octane, yesterday. Diesel is up to $5 a gallon near me. I don't know how the poor people will survive. Cheapest 87 octane is now $3.86.

How much you wanna bet that the price drops a week or 2 after this holiday weekend & then surges again around the 4th & around Labor Day?

 

$4.20 at the BP here in Asheville, NC last night.
$51 for 12 gallons. Ouch !!
At this rate we'll be paying European prices within a year.

We should start referring to gas pumps as "one armed bandits" as well as slot machines.
