Default Vehicle Keyed

While I was off having fun at the dragon on Friday my wife at home decided to go shopping. While she was parked outside of Kohl's some a**hole decided her new escalade looked to nice and preceded to key it. I just returned from the body-shop and the estimate was $3,422. It really pisses me off when folks that see a really nice vehicle think they need to destroy it so it looks like the piece of sh*t they drive. I'm sure when I renew my policy I'll be paying for this repair with a rate increase. I guess the only good thing was it wasn't my crossfire.

Frank, sorry about what happened to your Caddy.
I realize this is a long shot, but does Kohl's have security cameras in their parking lot?
I see them catching purse snatchers all the time on TV with parking lot cameras, maybe they can do the same with the low life sob's who scratched your vehicle.
Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about that Frank. This just pssssss me off. I think +fireamx is on to something. Try contacting Kohl's. I think that if you have a police report, they will allow their security to review the tapes.

Great idea.

I know someone that got their new Lexus coupe keyed outside a CVS. She thinks it was the homeless looking guy because she wouldn't give him any money.

I'll call Kohl's today and report back. I'm sure the insurance company would love to catch the person and recoup the money.

So I called Kohl's today, yes they have video camera's. no I can't view them. I have to file a police report and police can review it so I go to file a report. The officer tells me I'm wasting my time that even if they see the person doing it they have no way of knowing who it is. I said maybe you can get his plate number when they are driving away and his reply was well you can file the report but it might be a while before we can get to Kohl's to review the tape and the odds of us identify him is about 1% so why waste your time and ours. I just left disgusted. Called the insurance company and they just agreed.

Hmmm...wasting their time huh ???
Asssholes don't want to take the time to go to Kohls and review the tapes.
Offer them a couple of dozen jelly donuts and see if that might get them up off their assses.
What a bunch of Bullsh*t To serve and protect ?? Where is the serve part happening here ??

You should have asked the cop what he drives and were he parks his car ! And left him wondering.

I would have filed the police report anyway just to pi** them off. Then they have to do all the follow-up paper work.

Ya Frank I agree. Go ahead and waste your time as they called it and fill out the report anyway.

I bet if a mom had disciplined her kid they would have no problem identifying her.

Maybe he was cranky because you got in his way when going to the donut shop. Next time bring the donuts.
