Default The Ultimate Sacrafice...

a Navy Seal who made the ultimate sacrifice...

Navy SEAL Michael A. Monsoor had fast thinking to do when a live grenade came out of nowhere to bounce off his chest: Take the clear path to safety that he had but his comrades didn't, try to toss it safely away, or throw himself on top of it.

With barely an instant's hesitation on that Iraqi rooftop, Monsoor took the last course, sacrificing his life to save the men around him. For that, President Bush on Tuesday awarded him the Medal of Honor.

"His teammates liked to laugh about the way his shiny Corvette would leave everybody in the dust," Bush said. "But deep down, they always knew Mike would never leave anybody behind when it counted."

May God bless him eternally!

WOW...that was a sacrifice for sure.
It leaves you to wonder what went through his mind in that final moment.

There's something truly amazing about guys like Navy SEAL Michael A. Monsoor and Lance Corporal Matt Croucher that they would perform such selfless acts in a split second. I don't know that I'd have the same immediate reaction and wonder what it takes for these guys to do so when, obviously, their buddies didn't.

So who's Matt Croucher? A British Royal Marine who did basically the same thing but, miraculously, lived to tell about it. And by "live" I don't just mean he's technically still alive - he's FINE! See this article ---> http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle3646243.ece for his story.

But to guys like Monsoor and Croucher, and all the others putting their lives on the line day in and day out, all I can think to say is "thank you".
