Default Your IRS Rebate check

...How to use Your Economic Stimulus Tax Rebate ...

As you may have heard, each of us will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan. If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the US !

Ours is going to landscape improvements to the house. I know, it's not a mod to the xfires, but at least it's putting the money back into the local economy.

I don't get a rebate check...so I'll spend it on nothing.

President Bush has signed into law a $165 billion economic stimulus package providing rebate checks to taxpayers.
You might receive a check for $300, $600, $1,200, or even more depending on your conditions.

This payment has nothing to do with income tax refunds.

But for those who do file, the IRS will start mailing economic stimulus payments in May based on Social Security numbers.

Income tax refunds will be made separately from the stimulus payments.

Look closely, it appears that it is actually an advance on next years "refund". It is not free money.

Let's see, Rob at Needswings will be slightly more stimulated. It just might help get my POS garage rebuilt. Maybe the missus & I will take a trip to see Niagara Falls or go back to Cape Breton, NS (driving, of course).
Hookers & Bud? Bud? Must be a Heinie & a shot of Yukon or it's just not worth it.

Where do you get that?

Even the liberal AARP states: "This payment has nothing to do with income tax refunds."

I do agree with you that it is not free money. We taxpayers will have to pay it back with interest.

I don't think that the "economic stimulus package" will do anything to help our economy. One of the few things that will help our economy is for the supply of homes to get back in line with the demand. We are going through an adjustment due to the greed of a few lenders, developers and persons buying homes they couldn't afford using unorthodox loans.

Dependency on a few greedy countries for our energy needs is another big problem. However, Hillary and/or Obama are going to fix that problem in the first 100 days. They, unlike our current president are going to tell the oil companies to lower the price of gasoline.(I read it on the internet so it has to be true.)

This current adjustment is very similar to the dotcom crash in the 1990's. It's just a different and larger group of citizens that got hurt in the greed.

This is just my opinion and nothing else.

USA Today did a pol this week and 80% said their stimulus check would go to pay down debt or into savings. Personally, mine will go to pay off my 54" flat screen that I got 1 year ago. I got 18 months same as cash. I figure with all that I spend I've been stimulating the economy right along. Anyway, think about it, to stimulate our economy, we have to borrow from China's economy, and then use 80% of that to pay down our debt or put it in savings.

Another brilliant move from Dubbya.

Well......look at the bright side.

I'd rather squander my money than let someone else, (the government), have all the fun wasting cash.

BTW Kurts...........you ever tried Yukon with a couple of drops of lime juice? They call it a snakebite.........pretty damn good.
