Default Knoxville police officer shot today

A Knoxville officer responding to an alarm at a residence was ambushed when he went to the rear of the house. The $hitbag shot him three times from INSIDE the house. Officer is in critical condition at the time of this post. We know who did it and he WILL be caught. On a side note, I never put on my uniform without my bulletproof vest. Yea they are hot and uncomfortable, but it's better than the alternative.

After watching "Cops" I can understand getting shot at. Every time I watch it I see people getting knocked to the deck , tazed or sprayed. That show does no service to law enforcement. The police are not respected but feared....Something is wrong..........

Anybody who shoots another person (unless it's in self defence) has to be CRAZY!
Anybody who shoots a Cop, must have a death wish.
911, We all hope the officer pulls through.

The officer never even saw it coming.
I hope you guys get the shooter and lock his A$$ away for a long time.
I also hope the officer pulls through this but also feel for him as it will be tuff to return to work after something like this.

He did not "get shot at" he was Ambushed. That said,

People who run from the police or, challenge them, put everyone at risk. Not just the officers who swore to serve and protect. They chose the danger and the risk. The kids and other folks in the neighborhood did not.

If you run or resist an officer, I'm fine with them doing whatever to put you down. And I mean "what ever" including lethal.

Car chases are fun to watch but not if you're one of the innocents hurt or killed in the process. Innocent untill proven guilty is only true in the court room. Out on the streets, if you represent a threat to the population, and won't respond to authority, you deserve to go down.

The law abiding population has a moral right to the expectation of safety.
My opinion is not humble on this one.

Roadster with a stick

Mine and the prayers of many are with this officer.

The phrase "To Serve" brings a whole new meaning when this happens. Someone I knew really well, Ed Plank of the Maryland State Police, was shot and died from a "routine traffic stop" a few years ago."My prayers to him and his family

A couple of years ago a CHP officer pulled a guy over in the middle of the night as he was entering the 57 Freeway in Anaheim. Officer approached the vehicle, driver rolled down the window and proceeded to shoot the officer point blank in the face and drove off. Thankfully the officer survived and the driver was ultimately apprehended.

What to do about the scum of humanity who do such things? I'm fine with just dragging them out in the middle of the street and shooting them. Seriously.

Our thoughts and prayers for the Knoxville officer currently in critical condition, and to his family as well.

I hope they have the death penalty in TN. We do in TX and don't hesitate to use it on scums like that.

I hope he does not make it that far and resists a SWAT team.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Another reason to enforce the death penalty. Get the Weenies off the bench and out of the legislature. Just make sure it's the right perp!!
Prayers are with you....

I have two views on the death penalty.

It is actually a simple way out for the offender.
I actually would rather be dead than spend years in prison.

On the other hand if we lock them up we all pay for their sorry a$$es to be fed etc.for the duration of their time in prison.

I would think prison life is worse than death.

This is why we take precautions. As soon as you think it won't happen to you, your wife is a widow and your child has no father.

THIS is why we approach your tinted-out car with our service weapon drawn. That one time we assume nothing is going on behind that tinted window, we die.

My prayers go out to all that wear the badge.
