While you still have a chance...
I just wanted to inform everyone that I will not be able to attend the Carlisle, Pennsylvania Mopar Nationals next week. I took over the organizing of this meet when another forum member could no longer do it.
acrispy1 (Tony) will take over for me this year.
The reason why I can't go is that I am taking care of my terminally ill 84 year old Mom.
We got the terrible news last week on Tuesday. The doctors thought she had effects from having high blood pressure (dizziness, forgetfulness, etc.). It got worse over the next week and we went to a neurologist who thought that it was a minor stroke. It got even worse the next two days with her falling and finally on that Sunday (last week) I took her to the hospital emergency room where they did a CAT scan and said that her brain was bleeding and that they saw a "mass" in the right side of her brain.
On the next day, Monday of last week, they did a MRI and told me that her malignant melanoma from 1 1/2 years ago that the doctors thought had gone away, had metastasized into her brain and that she had 2-3 months to live. The next day they looked closer with a few other doctors and told me that she had 1-3 weeks to live.
I go her home last Friday night and hired a live-in health care aid to care for her and the local home hospice organization is providing medical equipment such as hospital bed, wheel chair, etc. for her.
She has a great attitude and says "what is, is, if I am terminal I hope I go tonight...". Incredible woman, strong, intelligent, beautiful and the best Mom a man could ever have.
My Dad died 20 years ago of lung cancer. I hope my Mom goes to him soon so they can be together again.
Thanks for listening everyone.
Take the time to appreciate those you care about while you still can...

So sorry to hear the bad news about your mom, and our thoughts will be with you indeed. You will be missed at Carlisle but our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.
I lost my pop to colon cancer. Not a nice way to go. Not any fun watching them go either. My prayers are with you. Let's hope she gets her wish and does check out in her sleep.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as well. I'm glad that you seem to have a good attitude going into this. Both of my parents went suddenly, and I wish I had been given three weeks notice. We all have blessings to be thankful for.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as well.
God Bless!

Frank, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's health. Let's hope she doesn't suffer much before she goes. My prayers are with her, you and the family.
Too bad I won't get to meet you at Carlisle. I was looking forward to finally meeting you. But, there's alway next year.

These are difficult times when a loved one becomes terminally ill.
My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

You have the character of a Giant. God bless you and you're family. No one appreciates the pain family members go through knowing a love one's passing is imminent. IF YOU NEED ANYTHING ASK.

My mom passed away on Sunday, July 13th and was buried on Wednesday, July 16th.
I was with her when she took her last breath. At least the end was peaceful and pain-free.
Cherish those who are important to you while you can.
Thank you to all of you who cared and gave support to me and my family.
