Hurricane Ike is still 200 miles off the coast of Galveston and parts of the city are already under water !

I hope you all get through this OK. Is this only Galveston that's in danger? How far into Houston is this a concern?

Houston is only 50 miles up the road from the coast as the crow flies. Because of the low lying area only on average 3 feet above sea level, flooding is probably the biggest concern as of now.
I lived in Houston when "Alicia" hit Galveston and Houston back in the early 80's, it was one hell of a mess even back then and "Ike" seems to be twice the storm !
Glad I live a lil bit further north now !

Not being P*S*Y, but any idea how much foreign has been offered to help rebuild? or provide comfort? or prayers?
