Default Crank Shaft Coffee Table

Some of you may recall I was searching for a crankshaft and pistons some time back, I finally found them. Here we see our speciman, it is a Ford 4.6L V8 heart ripped from the body of a well traveled Crown Victoria, serving well as a valiant little police power source to capture the evil and then again to help taxi people around to their destination. At a still ripe 120,000 miles it was time for it to retire and find a new home. My living room is such a place...

Now that's something I would do, if I were single. No way the wife would let me do that!

When I was single I had an engine I was building on an engine stand in the living room. Kind of a guy conversation piece.

Now I know what I can do with ALL of the parts I have accumulated over the years.
Make things out of 'em instead of making engines.

I did see that one Valk but I didn't want a huge engine block that would take up soo much space. So what are your guy's thoughts on clear coating?

After a few months of sitting around abit of oxidation is starting to form. Looks like I will have to clear coat it afterall.

Somehow missed this thread before.

Looks sweet....I like it.

You ought to get it sandblasted first, that'll help make sure the clearcoat stays on. Old engine parts have a way of letting oil creep out over time. A buddy of mine's carpet found this out the hard way.

Cool Re: Crank Shaft Coffee Table

Instead of making a crank shaft coffee table, I am looking at purchasing a 2004 Crossfire with 120,00 miles. Is this a good or bad idea. I am going tomorrow for test ride and thorough check of the vehicle.

Holy off-topicness in my thread batman! May I recommend that you go try another forum for your question.

Side note, the table is still in use and working well.
