FYI -

If you log on to your CC account @ CapitalOne you can upload a picture of your car (or of anthing else) and have it as the backround of your card.

What a great idea!

That would be a smoken card, as long as it has a BLACK CROSSFIRE on it

They did this a few years ago and I uploaded an image of my other car - I turned out great! But about 6 months later they sent me a new car - long before the expiration date on the "custom" one I created - and told me the other card was no longer valid and to cut it up. Not sure why, but that's what they did.

Maybe I'll give it another shot and see if this one is valid longer.

Mike, if they sent you another card it was probably because a merchant's security was compromised, and they take no chances. I know Citi Bank did that to me for this same reason.

Wow, maybe I should get one of their cards. They sent you a new CAR after only six months? Now that is what I call an incentive....LOL

BEWARE! My personal opinion of Capital One CCs and a message to our Crossfire Family... I manage an on-line electronics sales division and we process 1000's of credit card transactions daily. The majority (80%-90%) of all the fraud transactions we receive are from stolen identity Capital One credit card accounts. So, please be extra careful and check these accounts regularly. "Electronics, computers & jewelry are the products most commonly targeted in credit card fraud."

That is interesting. What, in your opinion makes Capitol One CC's more susceptible than other cards for identity theft? I haven't used my Capitol One in more than a year, so I may consider closing it if it is more susceptible to identity theft. At least I will have a momento with my baby on it.

Well golly gee, Mr. Cardholder, if you didn't post your credit card on the Interwebs maybe you wouldn't be the victim of identify theft!!

bmorgan, I'm strickly going by the numbers. For some reason most of our fraud transactions come from this bank. Try to read in between the lines... Somehow these thieves are able to easily access these accounts, know all your personal information including secret passwords, permanently or temporarily change your billing and shipping to addresses as they wish without you knowing. They do not even have to go thru your garbage. Ask yourself, how is that is possible? We catch most as they go thru our customized fraud check system but unfortunately, many times these orders come in "perfect" and turn out being fraudulent transactions after we have shipped them. Perfect meaning... billing/shipping addresses and phone numbers all match to what is listed on the cc holders account. They are able to change your info, process a few orders and then have it changed back after they have used it. Note, this also happens with other CC banks, but this one is KING!

Thanks for the insight.... reading between the lines leads to some disturbing thoughts. Good to hear from someone with real world insight from the other side of the transactions.
