R.I.P. Harry the K
I just wanted to take a second to pay respects to Phillies announcer Harry Kalas, who passed away today at the age of 73. As Phillies President Dave Montgomery said during the emotional announcement this afternoon, "we lost our voice today".
As a lifelong Phillies fan, Harry has been the only Phillies play-by-play announcer I have known, and his iconic call of the '08 World Series victory is something I'll never forget.
Harry passed away in the one place he belonged more than any other...the broadcast booth. He went out on top, having called one last Phillies championship, and one last Phillies victory.
The game has lost a legend, and Phillies nation has lost a family member.
We'll miss you, Harry. You were truly one of a kind!
