Default Boston, here I come

I Jet over to Boston on Monday for a five day city break with my wife. Fingers crossed the wind blows in the right direction and keeps the Icelandic Ash Cloud at bay and my flight leaves as scheduled.

Mostly looking forward to pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast and a bottle of Mountain Dew. I hear the lobster baquettes are feast not to be missed too.

A Boston Red Sox games is on the agenda provided I can get tickets.

With the number of trips to the US over the last year I'll almost be classed as a US citizen soon.

What an awesome place Boston is, had a great trip, and the Ash Cloud never hampered the flights. The flight was 1.5 hours longer than scheduled on the way out as the flight was diverted around Iceland to avoid the Ash Cloud.

Red Sox game was great, especially the ninth ining despite loosing 3-2. The walk to Fenway Park was superb along Commonwealth Avenue.

Anybody planning on going should take the Duck Tour which is an amphibious bus, taking in a 45 minute tour of the city and then drives into the harbour and sails around the harbour for 30 minutes or so.

W Boston Hotel is a vibrant hotel with a great ambience to the atmophere. Also the Top of the Hub Resturant at the Prudential Center is fantastic with great views whilst enjoying a stunning meal.

Spent lots, ate loads, got sun burnt and had a fantastic trip. I want to move there.

I live 10 miles north of Boston, maybe 15 minutes? It's a wonderful city, but with anything so big, you really REALLY need to know where to go.
