Default Car won't start

I tried to find other posts that might address this but couldn't. I was going out for lunch and my car won't start. I'm not certain that it's the battery because the interior lights work and the windows go up and down - but my battery is old. It just makes a clicking sound when I try to start it. Does anyone know that this could be? If it is the battery, how much do they cost? I've never had to replace the battery in this car. Thanks for your help.

Definetily sounds like the battery. Here is a good link for batteries that will work on our cars. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...placement.html

I agree. No doubt a battery. Just replaced mine in my Pacifica and that is exactly what happened to me.

Thanks, guys. It's definitely the battery. Unfortunately, I looked at an old thread about how an Everstart 48-3 fits the car but it doesn't - just spent about 2 hrs at the car place figuring this out. I'm not crazy about paying $200 for a battery. I'll look into the link you suggested bmorgan.

I ended up going to Firestone and getting the Interstate MTP-91. Thanks so much for the assistance. It saved me a LOT of time. The battery was $109, so not bad at all. I ended up spending $151 at the end of it all because I added the corrosion protection for $12, plus installation, etc. Thanks again!

Problem could be a defective starting coil/ vapour lock in the fuel system. If it does not crank at all, it could be a defective battery or even a defective starter motor. My friend had a similar problem in his Accent CRDI and it was finally pinned down to a defective starter motor. Why it gets affected by the heat, beats me though!

Thanks, Sam. It was actually the battery but my starter did go out about 2 yrs ago. Ended up costing about $900 to repair and only Chrysler could repair it (convenient).
