Rescued another dog today...
There was a shelter in floyd county (rome, ga) that was about to euthanize 20+ animals, most puppies. I put out mass emails and got every single one rescued so I figured it was only right I took one.

He's 1.5 - 2 years old, part chow and rottie... super sweet, loves people and other animals. The worst part was the shelter in rome neglected this dog (and every other) atrociously. He's about 30lbs under weight, coat is in need of help, he has kennel cough and is just overall in ok health.
I just got done bathing him and he's happier already, I figure a grooming next week and he'll be a new dog. It makes me so mad that anyone can treat an animal this way! They didnt even have newspaper in the kennels to at least give him something to lay on other than concrete (and sadly he's used to it... I gave him a huge comfy bed and he'd rather lay on concrete because it's all he's known)
This addition makes 8 dogs, but I think we will actively pursue adopting him to a household that can give him undivided attention.
Still trying to think of a name

and that human foot he has is pretty neat too....lol
lol. that was my mom holding him still.
He's so laid back, the whole time I was bathing him he didnt even budge. He just stood there which is a little odd when you take a garden hose to a dog.

The name "Lucky" comes to mind.
We got a rescue Boxer early this year. He's been a terrific dog! We can't imagine why anyone would have turned him over to the SPCA.
There are sooo many great dogs out there needing rescue because their owners have either lost their homes or couldn't afford them anymore.

He's almost a thoroughbred, like the Crossfire so call him Karmann.
I had rottie for 14 yrs, great dogs , my kids would lay all over him , your great guy for helping out , and know he in great hands and you will find great home for him ,
Good for you!
Thanks!
Wife loved the dog I brought home one time.
Till I told her I found it abandoned and tied to a dumpster with a rope so short the poor thing couldn't even lay down.
Found her (the dog) a good home with lots of open space!

We got some food in him yesterday and today. He has so much more energy already, he was bouncing around when I went in the garage. Only listens to me though, just sits and stares at my mom
So little update:
Over the last few days since we've been feeding him straight chicken and rice he's picked up so much energy. Now he's constantly happy and evens jumps around.
Tried letting him off the leash earlier and he bolted up the street.... Good quarter mile run for me to catch him.... Definitely an improvement from when we first got him.
Cough is slowly getting better, ten the next step is to groom him and think of a name.

+1 for Karmann as a name. After all, Karmann did get rescued from certain death recently. I think that makes it a good fit with a story to tell to boot.
we just, in June this year picked up my second rescue. my first was a border collie/Sheltie miix and I had him for 13 years before we had to put him down over Memorial Day, and 2 weeks later got an older rough collie, and probably german shepherd mix, we agreed on her being 9, and she's such a sweetie. Rescued out of Shelby County, KY shelter, so we named her Shelby. She's a real sneak though as she was on the run for quite awhile. Leave the fence gate open while you're working in the yard and she can sneak right by you and wanders the neighborhood. She doesn't listen real well, but will I think come home on her own now.
It's interesting to watch rescue dogs as their behaviors will tell a story of them. This one doesn't respond well, getting better, to just talking to her, so figured she was tied outside and didn't get much socialization, and only stays outside for a few minutes and back in the house, as if she doesn't want to be left outside anymore. Things like that. My wife picked up a fly swatter the other day, and the dog saw that and immediately went to cower mode, so we figured she had experience with that. Interesting.
Good for you Infinite!
