Default Got the bad news today...

I got called this morning and told that next Friday is my last day with the company.

Good news is that I also got called this morning for phone interview with different group in the company about a great job in Fort Worh,Texas..... that went very well and they are planning on making a decision by Nov at the latest.

So I may just get a short vacation and a better job...
Keep your fingers crossed for me...

Sorry that sucks. I have family in OR but moved to Texas 14 years ago. It is much easier to stay employed in Texas than most of the country. Thankfully the Dem's haven't been able to screw up Texas. The economy has always been better here since I moved here and the cost of living will amaze you! Good luck and hope it works out for you.

Sucks that your losing your job..But if you have to go to Texas.

Say goodbye to the great 1/4 mile times at your local track - but on the bright side, you'll be a lot closer to the Texas Mile.

Good Luck

Sorry to hear that Mike. We just lost 34 people at my work. I was spared, for now.

You should see more Crossfires in Texas. Those folks are pretty active in their meetings it seems. Sure they will be waiting for ya.

HEY! Texas Crossfires! Any one got a job for Mike!?

Mike, that's bitter sweet news! I've lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area all of my life. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. Keep us updated on your status buddy!

Mike, sorry to hear about the enforced vacation, but if you got o go anywhere, pick Texas.
Suggestion, pickup a copy of the weekend Dallas-Ft Worth news papers and scan the help wanted. You might try San Antonio too. I moved here from New Mexico 16 years ago after retiring. Check the tax laws and homeowners deductions, as well as the cost of living. It was like a $5,000 a year increase in spendable income for me to move. A buck is a buck, and better in your pocket then Obies Saudia Bank account. Goot shooting here too.
Good luck, and don't hesitate to contact any Texan, they be great folks. 4 more years and I get Naturalized!!!!

Thanks guys.... I expect to hear from HR for another interview for the TX position... they called me Friday and asked what I thought of the phone interview and which of the positions I was most interested in....

Doc, I only do machining as a hobby... I am in electronics manufacturing as a manufacturing/quality/product engineer.... the position in TX is for a Quality Mgr and would be a very good position if I can land it....

Thanks again... I'll let you guys know what happens....

Sorry to hear about the job, but we would love to have another XFire here is Fort Worth! Our economy is thriving, and cost of living is still incredibly low. You will love it here for three seasons out of the year! The fourth season sucks, but at least we just passed through it.

We actually have six seasons here. I nice mild winter, a beautiful spring, then summer, then Super Summer and then summer again before a great Fall...
