Here is something very interesting... and we will have to look for evidence of it next year.



1964 Color photo postcard entitled, "Exciting and Unusual." Back reads, "The Fontana Dam incline cable car at left gives passengers a magnificent view of world-famous Fontana Dam and gorge. The car takes visitors from atop the dam to the powerhouse at the bottom, and back. The dam is 480 feet high and more than 1/2 mile long. It forms a huge mountain lake with 240 miles of ruggedly beautiful shoreline." Postmarked 1964 from Fontana Dam, North Carolina.

James these are some nice pics ,I'm supprised they did away with the incline seems like that would be a big tourist draw. very cool ... and sorry for being so late but THANKS for the Dragon decal (your best yet) it gets a special place on the back of my Motorhome ...my neighbor was in the garage with me last night and was eyeing it ,,I told him (want one) go buy a XF and join me next year at the gtg,,LOL!!!....
