This past summer I found out that my thryoid was shot (Mulit-noidular goiter), the right side was three sizes to big and extended down to my coller bone. After a session of fine needle aspiration where they stick a needle into your neck and into the noids on the thryoid, 4 times for each noidual and I had 4 of them and one small one on the left lobe.

Well surgery a few days before Thanksgiving and had the right side removed hoping the left would do OK solo. Yesterdy my doctor calls and tells me pathology has determined the thing is cancerous and I have to go back in 4 days before Christmas to have the same incision opened up and get the left side pulled.

Im ok, I guess, and thryoid cancer is really cureable. Seems as soon as they remove it its better. Sure I was a little shell shocked to hear CANCER because so far they used words like UNDETERMINED ETC.

Please pray for my wife Charli, and beautiful daughter Kami because they are rather upset and concerned with all this.

BTW...I learned how to MIG weld the same day as I got the call from the doc so it was still a great day

I am a cancer survivor (so far). The first time you hear the word it kind of takes your breath away. They are getting better with this stuff all the time. I wish you the best. And it is hard on the family. Wish the best for them as well. Take care.
