Well, for my 21st birthday, which was a few months back, my parent's got me laser eye surgery (yea, my parents are awesome). I finally had it done this past monday after having to have it rescheduled a few times for various reasons. All I can say is WOW. Ok, right after I had it, it really sucked, my eyes were burning real bad, and I could barely open them, LOTS of pain. Three Valium, two Tylenol with codeine, and one drug induced nap later, and everything was great. The next day my vision was perfect 20/20, and it should even get better than that.

The type of Lasik I had is called IntraLasik and instead of the doctor producing the incision with a scalpel, they use a laser to do it, and it is much safer, and has far fewer complications. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the results. Supposedly there are supposed to be some weird effects, like halos and star-bursts at night, which I experienced yesterday, but today they were mostly gone, and should go completely away soon.

Anyone thinking about having this done, I say go for it. It is not cheap, especially for the IntraLasik type, but if you have the money, go for it. I would personally not have had regular Lasik done, because I believe if you're messing with something as important as your eyes, only get the best, but I know a lot of people are happy with regular Lasik too.

Going to the beach this summer and not having to worry about losing my contacts, and playing volleyball and football with perfect vision is going to be AWESOME.
