Got this from my brother today.... WOW!

One for the Books !
Man Owned & Drove Same Car for 82 YEARS
Can you imagine having the same car for 82 years!

I guess it was no longer under warranty...

"How Long Have You Owned a Car?"

Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster

from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928.
He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!!
He was the oldest living owner of a car from new. Just thought you'd like to see it.
He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death.

It has 1,070,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is
in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years)
That's approximately 13,048 miles per year (1087 per month)...

Wow.... not only is it amazing that he had it that long, but to keep it in that kind of condition with putting over a million miles on it is mind boggling. I hope I have my roadster for 82 years, but hmmmm.... that would make me be about 130+ years old. Crap.... my 401K is not doing good enough for me to live that long, LOL

I knew someone who said he'd had a new Yugo for seemingly an eternity before he happily dumped it at the wreckers yard.
That would count as the longest time owning a new car but it was less than three years in reality.

Never understood the thinking of keeping a car for a life time... until I bought the SRT. Amazing story thanks for sharing Mike.
