crossfire '04 key turns but wont start. HELP
Just yesterday I went to the store came out got back in my car. Car will not start. Everything was running just fine when I shut it off 5 minutes before. All lights come on key turns just fine. But when I turn the key to start ..nothing just silence. I read up on some things and have been trying to find out what the problem is. I call the the tow truck he ask me to lift the hood. He juggles the negative wire on the battery and it cranks up ..but dies. Immediately. Jumper cables couldn't even start this thing. As of last night its at the repair shop. And hopefully its not something that's gonna cost me a million dollars to fix. Anyone have any suggestion. Bc im stumped at the moment ...
Sorry that you are having this difficulty, jpeez. No, it does not need to be a costly fix, if the following is the problem.
Here is an exhaustive link on the quirky, no-start issue.

It could be a number of things, either simple and inexpensive or potentially costly. Could be electrical connections somewhere other than the battery (starter etc). it could be the starter itself (my other car had this happen with similar symptoms), or a number of other things. It's best to check simple things out first and then move forward from there. I know these cars have a propensity to have electrical connection issues. Good luck.
Thanks a lot guys .. I have it at the mechanic right now and they are scratching their heads like a bunch of idiots ..after I read the link of what u guys sent me ..it's about 99% the problem is the rcm . But once I convince these guys to even take that into consideration then I will be one crossfire less person this weekend..hopefully I'll be able to take a look at it and see if it just needs to be resoldered.but ever single person here who has had this problem seems to have got it fixed doing that method . And these mechanics would love for it to be something that totally out of my wallet scale .would have loved to have read this link before I gave it to the mechanic hahah
