Default Who says that you cannot run mac os on Windows?

I've been trying to get mac os to run on Windows for quite some time now to test software for work. Today, I finally figured out how to do it. It runs pretty well for what I need it to do...

Yep. Now I don't have to get my hands dirty by touching mac hardware.

Unfortunately I have to test software on macs. So it is a necessary evil. I have to say that the mac interface looks very much like a fancy version of CDE that ran on Solaris 5.6 back in 1998. If that is all that apple can muster, I really don't see any benefit to buying a mac.

I've played with the mac interface for a bit this past week. I am scratching my head asking myself what the big deal is. It looks like a fancy version of CDE that you could load on Solaris 5.x back in the 1990's. The OS is based on UNIX/FreeBSD. What kind of innovation is that? Apple has a great marketing machine, no doubt. However most of their "innovations" are/were invented elsewhere and they get can people to pay top dollar.

I guess the thing that rubs me the wrong way the most about apple is the smugness that comes out in the ads and the nievity of many mac folks where they think nothing bad will happen if they run a mac. As more macs are sold, the more hacks that will be made available as there is a larger pool to attack. Apple may be gaing share in the realm of personal computing, however Windows still greatly outsells macs.

I cannot argue with that at all.

Which begs the question, why pay $2-$3k on a system to run Windows when you can get better results by buying the same type of hardware for $700? (Just razing ya FP).

Have you guys checked out Windows 8? I currently have a Windows phone running 7.5 Mango which is very similar to Windows 8 and love it.

You're right. In my case my Mac is my work computer the university gave me.
