How do people view your Crossfire where you live?
Just trying to get an understanding as to how people react to the Crossfire where you live? Here in Hampshire (UK) the views are mixed with alot of good comments & alot of attention but to some people (they call themselves petrol heads) the Crossfire is slated at any opportunity & without any evidence as to why.... The majority of people who don't like them have never sat in one let alone driven one yet they are 100% certain that the Crossfire is un-reliable, ugly, slow, & handles like a blamange! For me, my Crossfire has proven to be the exact opposite to the bad comments & I absoluley love it & can't see me parting with it anytime soon.
How do people react to your's?
How do people react to your's?
Almost everyone I have talked to while filling gas, coming out of a store/going in, even sitting in drive throughs, have a comment. Pretty much everyone loves the looks, and none have a clue about its heritage. I have definately converted some people on quickness too. Its gotten to the point where Civics dont try to line up to me anymore
Seems some Brits don't understand the concept of the Crossfire or anything "American"
When you try & explain the heritage etc people just glaze over & lose interest.
. I have come from owning 2 Elises & a rather nice Z3 M Roadster yet I prefer my Crossfire without a doubt.

Oh I do enjoy it... It's different & thats why I like it.
I live on a college campus, so unfortunately the car gets no love or appreciation. everyone just views it like another sports car (and there are ALOT on campus), like any old mustang. Even worse, everyone looks at it and says "it's a chrysler, ewww" and walks away. But anyone who knows me well at all, knows what the car is and appreciates it. Once people my age actually know what the car IS, they tend to be very jealous of it.
My wife and I have received many compliments over the years on the Crossfire. People still walk up and say what is that car?!? Is it European?
Our cars probably catch a lot of negative feedback in the UK because of Clarkson's review on Top Gear eight years ago. No offense to the British, but they seem to have an abstract type of love for anything British, even if it's rubbish. Anything the Americans produce is, well, rubbish... even if it's brilliant.
Also, most "gear-heads" simply assume that since the car is based on the R170 (a hair-dresser's car), the Crossfire will be equally boring.
Here in the 'States, it's a bit different but it all depends on where you go. I didn't get many second-glances in Atlanta last weekend, but they're accustomed to seeing Lamborghinis on a daily basis.
In my home town, it gets decent feedback. Lots of double-takes, gas-pump interrogations, etc... In very rural communities, people look at you like you're driving a full-blown exotic.
Haters of the car exist in every locale. These are normally the people driving every-day sedans and commuter cars, yet because they read that "some car is faster around ___ racetrack, clearly the Crossfire can't be taken seriously and is only good for scrap metal."
I allow them to think that, while I ignore them and blow their doors off.
Same thing at the race tracks. Virtually NO interest is given until the almighty Corvette, Mustang, Camaro all get schooled by a lightly modded SRT-6. Then you suddenly have folks around your engine bay with this "forgive us, we knew not what we did" expression on their faces.
I don't really concern myself with the opinions of others... if you drove a Ferrari, there would always be some broke kid saying "should've bought a Lambo". I ignore the haters, and express gratitude to the admirers.

My kids (early 30's) think it is ugly.....of all my cars this is the 1st one they disliked, but then again I traded their beloved 34 ford for it.
I watched on you tube the review of the crossfire on Top Gear......once they dis-like it....then they liked the roadster???? But they never seem to like American cars nor do they understand our world of open mountain and desert roads.
I have not driven it much yet, but have had many compliments and pointed fingers (no-bird) mostly by pretty younger girls at the grocery store pointing it out to their boy friends and my favorite.....moms.
In the end I love the car and even though the 34 had a much higher street value.....I'm happy

I got the car for me and I love it.......as far as I'm concerned that just means I don't have to worry about my kids asking to borrow it every other day anymore.
I'm way past worrying about if others get it, but I do enjoy it when it brings a little joy to others just spotting it on the road or in a grocery store parking lot

Some excellent replies guys & thank you.... Typically over hear if Clarkson slates any car then we tend to buy them because he is not loved at all by most petrol heads over hear, another words he speaks bull**** & we do the opposite to what he says.

And the addition of the gold intake tubes just spun the cockometer off the scale...
We love ya, Steve
Maybe some folks just don't like the front end. It looks like an ordinary Chrysler. But, I have always liked Chrysler's concept cars and that's what I have always considered the Crossfire to be. I'm glad I have it!
