GTR Fail
I would love to see some sort of telemetry/lap data from this guy's experience... brakes can be overcooked on any car if the driver enters every corner too hot. With the GT-R, it's EASY to build speed to the "too hot" level...
And yes, he's right -- street cars are not designed to be endurance racers from the showroom floor. If he wants to act like McNish at Le Mans, he needs to buy our race-ready GT-R Nismo GT3 (on sale now).
Otherwise, he's doing like every other buffoon out there -- taking a fully trimmed, 3,800 pound car to the track and thrashing it, while expecting daily-driver reliability and wear rates.
The equipment on the GT-R is more than adequate for a day's enjoyment on twisty back roads, recreational drag racing, etc....
But it was NOT designed for extended track use, or for competition with dedicated track racers. If he wishes to do that, he needs to make the recommended upgrades. This is the case with ANY premium car.
This article was written because he overcooked his brakes, and the dealer won't cover it. Additionally, the dealer likely went into the GPS history and saw the car visited a race track (The GT-R recognizes race track coordinates, and flags them). Such activity is sufficient to void the warranty for the respective damaged item.
Question -- would he be equally pissed if his insurance company declined to cover a race-related collision?
Methinks so.

Car and Driver Magazine found that the brakes on the 370Z Nismo are basically terrible. I am not surprised to hear of problems with the GT-R's brakes also.

Could the GT-R brakes be better? Sure.
Does the driver have a LOT to do with the braking performance? Yes.
I think we all remember a Crossfire owner that cooked his brakes at the Dragon in 2010... the other ~70 Crossfires had no issues.
Pad compound plays a huge role, but so does the driving style.
That was a tier-2 supplier issue...

If I remember right they said the GTR was a 911 Turbo fighter. I'd love to see them do 3 hot laps around the Ring in a Turbo and a GTR. I'm willing to bet the Turbo is more consistent and faster 2 out of the 3 laps.
+1 Porsche has that race.
Man, you guys are right -- I clearly know nothing of which I speak. Because of brake fade, the GT-R is a total POS and doesn't deserve any of the other dozens of accolades it has received. Carry on...
Luckily, Porche doesn't have an issue with brake fade. I mean, it's not like the 991 GT3 randomly bursts into flames...
Wait...

How much were those new brake rotors again?

I'm sorry but I never purchased a car owned by a company from a country that still honors war criminals and I never will.
Germany still pays for its crimes to the world. Japan never paid one red cent, but the US gave it billions. In return Japan F`d the US again.
Until Japan admits its wrongs I will not forget, you can and do every time you take their money.
Remember Pearl Harbor.
I remember my friends father when he came back from a Japanese POW camp in Malaya.

Using your logic, I should be pissed at the British because I cam from Scottish roots. We were once oppressed... somewhere down the line.

I would consider the complete demolition of two major cities ample "payback". We were at war. War is not fair. War is not glamorous. We are currently fightin in a war in which we can no longer call the enemy by name, courtesy of political correctness. Should I refuse to do business with anyone that is from the Middle East?
Some people cling to grudges so tightly, they carry them into the grave.
Point being -- if you're boycotting the use of Japanese products, I suppose that was your last post. Otherwise, you're a hypocrite like the rest of us, and simply choose comfort and convenience over absolute damnation.
