"Buddy"
"Buddy"
I've been politely and nicely informed (and I hope the member does not mind me starting this thread) that you guy's could "possibly" take it the wrong way when I use this word a lot. For example, you may think I'm being sarcastic etc.
So....just to let you know.
In Blighty, we tend to use the word often as a term of endearment. For example, it means the same as "mate" or "friend", or a way to show you like the person you're either talking or replying to.
Therefore guys, don't be offended if I call anyone "buddy" - it's not meant in any derogatory way, quite the opposite in fact......

Re: "Buddy"
And qurious where at that it is meant different.
Does get quite annoying at times, especially when it is from someone you work with you can't stand.
Re: "Buddy"
In the hills of Tennessee,, its a greeting. "Watup Buddie" , "ayyy you doin awright buddie" or talking about another friend , "hows ya Buddie doin?" Maybe ,"weez been buddies fer ever" or the ever popular, "aaaaaay buuuudee". Not an insult in these part. UNLESS , its " Who the **** u think u arrr , BUDDY?" But I guess at that point , its implied AS an insult!

Now that will have upset some people here already even though I am joking, sort of anyway.
Different places have different ideas on what is funny and what is not funny, like everywhere else some people here are quick on the uptake and some are just plain thick.
