I remember right before they put up the test pattern the station would play the National Anthem. Then the pattern would come up and a tone would sound.

That's a great picture of Marylin Monroe during the Korean Conflict. However, that's an M26 Pershing Heavy Tank.

The original "Wheel of Fortune"! You were fortunate if you got off of it without a concussion or bodily injury! LOL
It was fun to have someone, or multiple kids, be the "spinners" while the rest of us hung on. As it was spun faster the Centrifugal force increased. At some point, with the world whizzing around like a blur, I would bail out (or get sick and throw up). Just looking at that thing causes my PTSD to come back. The Merry-Go-Round was the place where boys became Men.
