As many of my fellow forum members know, I'm a cinematographer in Hollywood. Which affords me the opportunity to do some really fun stuff... Well this week took the cake with some work I was doing for the Army National Guard in some "Dust-off" Blackhawk helicopters in San Francisco... I thought I would share with some of you...

I'll post some really funny photos of me in the Blackhawks wearing my racing suit with the Chrysler logo as soon as I get my hands on them...

 

I see you were up to no good and causing trouble. Sounds like a good time to me though.
Been around a lot of helicopters, but never Blackhawks.

I'm always causing trouble... taking great images and getting paid at the same time... I'm trying to upload some really cool photos, but the darn website is FARTING again... You gotta see some of these, you'll crack-up...

The back story is:

I was asked to shoot some aerial shots of a few Army National Guard helicopters flying in formation under / over & around the Golden Gate Bridge as well as some mocked-up rescue missions from a lake and the top of Mount Shasta...

They asked if I could do it last weekend, but I told them I was driving my little Crossfire at California Motor Speedway on Sunday and could not do it till Monday. They decided to fly me up to SF Monday afternoon and said that I they would provide me with a NOMEX (flight suit) while I was flying in the Blackhawk. I said, don't worry, I have my own fire suit...

Thus, the comedy of this job... I wore my Crossfire driving suit with the BIG Chrysler logo on the back... There are some really funny photos of me in my red & black driving suit next to the pilots in their Army green flight suits...

You had to be there...

I'll post the pics as soon as the website allows me...

HDDP: Doc do use Photoshop CS2? I just got my hands on it and it is a blast...

 

Yep, I have CS2... Great program. PS: I used to be a Navy Corpsman 20 years ago, now I'm a cameraman... No need to call me DOC... I was hired by the Army National Guard to shoot some recruiting commercials for them, that's why the pictures of me in the medevac helo's...

 

I think I finally figured out a way to post some photos to the forum, even though the software is screwed-up. I'm still trying to upload some videos from California Motor Speedway, but having zero luck... So, enjoy the stills from my Commercial shoot from the Army National Guard last week...

Those pictures are great. You have the whole "one of these things is not like the other" thing going on and I think it is great. Looks like you have a great job and have a lot of fun doing it.

They told me I had to wear a fire suit to shoot from the Blackhawk. So, I came prepared ! LOL... They loved it... They offered one of their flight suits, but I said it looked too GREEN for my tastes... LOL

 

I wore green for a long time and I'll take that black and red any day.
